Automotive Windscreen Fitters (Tinters)

The Windscreen Fitter will be responsible in carrying out all aspects of auto glazing to the company and the customers’ expectations.

Role and Responsibilities

  • To accurately record and report any pre-existing damage to customers vehicle to your branch manager and the customer before commencing the job. Upon completion check all workmanship is to a professional standard.
  • Project a professional and positive image of Instant Windscreens.
  • Use and maintain company provided workplace tools and equipment, including motor vehicle; reporting any damage immediately to branch manager.
  • Report faulty workmanship to branch manager and customer.
  • Address customer complaints and warranty issues in consultation with branch manager.
  • Apply environment and sustainability best practice in an automotive workplace.
  • Apply safe working practices in accordance with OH & S procedures
  • Store and handle glass.
  • Cut and process flat laminated glass.
  • Handle and be responsible for any customer payments.
  • Keep any company assets clean, neat and tidy.
  • Be presentable and wear clean company uniforms including safety boots.
  • Develop product knowledge of auto glazing and apply this knowledge to your work.
  • Be part of regular staff meetings (individually or in a group format) and resolve any non-conformances issues.
  • Any other reasonable request made by customer service representatives, Branch Manager or Senior management.
  • Effective communication with customers, including taking information from them in the form of instructions or requests, and also communicating job specific information to them on a regular basis. Provision of a high level of service.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Sound knowledge of automotive glass repair and installation techniques.
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a Windscreen Fitter.
  • Certification in Automotive glass repair and installation is advantageous.
  • First Aid certification would be an advantage.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and in particular Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Drivers License
