Ceramic Wall and Floor Tilers

The Ceramic Wall and Floor Tiler is responsible for preparing surfaces, measuring and laying out tiles, cutting and shaping tiles to fit specific spaces, and installing tiles on walls and floors. They ensure precision and attention to detail in alignment and spacing, apply adhesives and grout, and conduct quality inspections to deliver a visually appealing and structurally sound result.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Inspect and prepare surfaces for tiling, ensuring cleanliness, smoothness, and suitability.
  • Remove old tiles, adhesives, and grout when necessary.
  • Apply waterproofing and leveling materials as required.
  • Measure and mark surfaces, calculating tile quantities and ensuring proper alignment.
  • Determine tile layout and patterns for visual appeal.
  • Use tile-cutting tools to precision-cut tiles for corners, edges, and irregular spaces.
  • Shape tiles to accommodate fixtures and obstacles.
  • Apply adhesives, securing tiles in place with attention to patterns and design.
  • Maintain consistent spacing, use spacers as needed.
  • Mix and apply grout uniformly, ensuring a sealed finish.
  • Clean excess grout and polish tiles for a professional appearance.
  • Install edge and trim tiles for a polished look.
  • Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and adherence to design specifications.
  • Make necessary adjustments or repairs for a flawless finish.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations when working with tools and materials.
  • Comply with building codes and standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
  • Provide recommendations on tile selection and layout based on expertise.

 

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Ceramic Wall and Floor Tiler.
  • Proficiency in tile-cutting tools and relevant equipment.
  • Strong understanding of tiling techniques, materials, and safety protocols.
  • Attention to detail and precision in measuring and installation.
  • Physical stamina for extended periods of kneeling, bending, and lifting.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
